Crafting a Small Wooden Handplane (pt. 1)


It is the work that is important, the tools transparent.

Replacing an awkward metal plane with something more useful.

Cutting the proper angles for the body of the plane.  This will determine the pitch of the blade.

Pieces roughed out.  The small piece of Ebony (right) will be carved and used as a wedge stop, which will hold the blade in place.
