Nipping Press for UAB (pt. 5)
After the final shaping I bevel the corners . . . sand an apply aniline dye.

Now for the final smoothing and shaping of the press. I use a smoothing plane and scrapers to smooth the wood.

The above image shows the hole cut to accept the metal vice. Now that all of the parts have been roughed out it is time to begin shaping the piece.

The mortise and tenons have been shaped with chisels and fit together nicely. Now that the carcass is complete it is beginning to look suspiciously like a nipping press.
